It's a great picture.

I think the cross, like the blood, was made as part of the "Carrie" character. Carrie is religious and her mother is crazy religious.

It's a good poster, the creator did a great job. 8-)

I can't wait for the official posters but they just have to film it before. :D

Chloë is a Christian. I don't think she attends church regularly, but she was raised in the Baptist Church.

That fan-made poster could pass as the real thing TBH. Great job.

And I'm probably alone but I love remakes. I love the idea of getting to see a new artistic take on a story that you've grown to love. And I like that it exposes the movie to new audiences who will go and watch the original movie who never would have otherwise. I don't understand how people think a bad remake "ruins" the original. :? People just like to complain about everything.

Oh you're not alone. :) I'm curious when I hear something about a remake and I watch them first and rate them after watching it.
I saw remakes which were better than the originals and also some which were not so good like the original. It's the same thing like in every other movie - there are good movies and bad movies. :|

You could've just said you don't like remakes and won't be watching this one.

Even though our recent interview was for Dark Shadows, we couldn't resist asking Chloe Moretz about landing the lead role in the upcoming remake of Carrie. Check back later this month for the full interview.

Congratulations on Carrie. What is it about the role that you find fascinating?

Thanks! It's an amazing role and I'm so excited to get in there and try to tackle it and see what I can change up. It's already been done and there's already been the amazing, amazing, amazing Sissy Spacek version of it, but what I really want to do is spice it up and take a more modern, younger approach to it because I am going through what Carrie is going through. She's figuring out who she is, and I just really want to get in there and see what I can do, feel it out.

Mordensen, while you're perfectly allowed to carry this opinion - disagree. First of all there's plenty of remakes that improved upon the original by ten fold and see critical acclaim. The Hills Have Eyes, Ocean's Eleven, Scarface, The Departed, Dawn of The Dead, True Grit, etc. If remakes didn't exist, we would have been robbed out of numerous amazing movies.

Are remakes created out of a initiative for profit? Yes. But so is every movie, remake or not.. If a movie doesn't look profitable, they aren't greenlit. At the end of the day, movie-making is a business. It's all about $$$$. This isn't just true for remakes. And simply because a movie is re-using a story, doesn't mean there's no innovation. From casting, creation of the script and cinematography there is still a lot of artistic license to be applied from everyone involved. In my eyes a remake is like an easter egg for people who loved the original source content. Seeing your beloved story and characters being told from a different perspective. Sometimes it's a great experience and sometimes it's not. Like going to see any other movie... depends on the talent and grasp of the movie-making artistry of the Director.

There will always be remakes, reboots, popular novel adaptations, comic book movies, everything else. It's a safe assumption for Hollywood that they will be profitable. And it's obviously enjoyable to the fanbases of this content or it wouldn't be profitable. You have your perspective on it but it's seems one that's in the minority. Hollywood will always cash in on trends and right now that's remakes. Eventually the general populous will grow tired of it and Hollywood will have to change their tune. Nothing to worry about.

And there are still many original movies being released as will there always will be. Feel free to take a step outside of Hollywood and you'll find them.

@Mordensen I mostly agree, especially when it comes to CGI and using the same blockbuster actors over and over. Their pay far exceeds their talent in most cases. When it comes to CGI, If i can tell it's cgi and it's not a pixar movie, then i'm completely taken out of the moment. It was my biggest problem with Let Me In.

lol the CGI in Let Me In actually helped me because it allowed me to get through the movie without scaring me to death cause the CGI reminded me it was a movie lol. But I agree with you about how CGI should be subtle
