Thought I'd just post what I know about KA-2. Chloe has always said that she would want to play Mindy/Hit-Girl again, but the question is: will there be a sequel? I know there is an IMDB entry for the film but apparently that doesn't mean anything concrete.
Most of my information comes from reading Mark Millar's (the original graphic novels's co-creator) website forum and twitter. So here's what Mark has said:
- The original film is set to gross over 100 million dollars worldwide at the box office with the same again from DVD sales. Original production cost 28 million dollars.
- Matthew Vaughn, the director, has said he is ready to make KA-2 in 2011 after he's finished making X-Men 4.
- Mark has mapped out all the issues of the second comic series and he is now just filling in the detailed story with a comic release date this august.
- Mark has described Mindy Macready's story in the sequel as being like the plot of David Cronenburg's film 'A History of Violence' - Mindy becomes an everyday teen and tries to avoid becoming Hit-Girl again until circumstances force her to be the deadly assassin she really is. Red-Mist becomes the evil, and possibly gay, villain and gets a female sidekick (Mark thinks Miley Cyrus !! would be perfect for the role and would battle Hit-Girl to the death at the end).
- Chris Mintz-Plasse and Chloe's brother Trevor have said that Chris and Chloe haven't been officially approached about the sequel. Chris, Chloe and Aaron at sometime have all said they would like to be in the sequel.
And that's about all I know. I guess the big question is if a hollywood studio would back the film.
