Lots of press releases are out now to say that Hugo Cabret has just started shooting at Shepperton Studios, London. Jude Law is now in the film and Johnny Depp is one of the producers!
Jude Law, Ray Winstone and Christopher Lee have joined the cast of Martin Scorsese's "The Invention of Hugo Cabret". "Cabret" represents Scorsese's first forary into 3D.

Asa Butterfield and Chloe Moretz had been previously announced as cast members on the pic, which began shooting Tuesday in London. Sony is set to release "Cabret" on Dec. 9, 2011.

The story centers on a 12-year-old orphan named Hugo, who lives in a train station and must finish what his late father started by solving the mystery of a broken robot. It is being produced by...blah,blah...and Johnny Depp.
This film is sounding like a very big production!

Didn't think that this movie was gonna be so big. But know I'm looking forward to it, but does it really need to be shot in 3D? 3D doesn't always make it better, but I guess they'll be doing some shots that'll be useful for the 3D effects but time will only tell. But Chloë in 3D!!! :o is prob the best part lol

I just found out that this film is the first live action movie where EVERYTHING is in 3D:

Hmmm looks like they're already behind schedule. Maybe this whole movie in 3D thing may not be a great idea. But hopefully this won't turn people away cause 3D movies tend to cost a lot more to watch, make and there are lots of theaters out there that still doesn't support this type of movies. Plus people will complain that their eyes hurt from under the strain of watching such films. Even though I'm pretty sure that a regular movie will also be available, I'm sure that more people will watch it over the 3D one.

Maybe this is the reason why Chloe's not replying that much on Twitter. :]

Don't they film it in 2D at the same time for DVD and normal cinemas? 3D movie cameras seem to have 3 lenses and I always assumed the one in the middle was for normal 2D. Not an expert talking here so maybe I should look this up.

I came to this topic late, but I love the idea. I think her accent's pretty good, actually. Pretty high-end. Her brother Trevor posted this picture on Twitter: http://twitpic.com/21gboy

I love her with long and short hair, but I still think she's gonna tear up this role. I also love that her name's Isabelle in it. That rocks. That name rocks...myself having the name. I'm looking forward to it majorly. Haven't read the book in a little while, but I remember that it was abfab.
