Grrrrr, my PS3 died on me late Friday night while my little brother was playing Battlefield 3. Stupid disc got stuck inside and wouldn't come out. Then not too long after that, the PS3 itself wouldn't power up. After fiddling around with it for a couple of hours, decided to call it a night and slept. Woke up the night day (Sat morning) with the intent to trade in my Xbox 360 and the Wii for another PS3. Remembering that both of those systems where not packed away back in their boxes I dug them out. Got the Xbox out and checked things over to see the condition of the system. Should be pretty good considering it was my 2nd console after my first one RROD. Checked around, and no scratches; pressed in the 2 memory slots; opened and closed no problem; pressed in the usb slot and to my surprise! It broke....wtf.
Crap, no I'll have to buy a new faceplate in order to trade it in. I'll be lucky to get $80 bucks, minus the 20 that it may cost me will get me like $60 if I'm lucky. Threw it back in it's box and closed it back up. Looked over at the Wii and after staring at it for a min or two, a thought popped into my head "Crap! can't trade in this Wii either because it's been modded" Threw them both back in the closet and closed the door. Came to my brother and said "Come on, we're going to Gamestop to buy another PS3" Got there, paid for a new one, reserved my copy of COD MW2 and also bought a new copy of the Ico and Shadow of the Colossus combo, price came up to around $320.
Got home, started up the PS3 and got it all started then hit another road block. How to get my saved game files/DLC over when my old PS3 won't start up? Tweeted for some help with no luck; swapped HD's but no luck there as well; tried to connect the HD to the computer both Windows and Linux but nether would recognize it. Decided, to go ahead with the format that popped up when swapping the HD's into the new PS3 that I remember seeing. It did say formatting the partition "may" erase all data. Well, I was going for the long shot on this "may" and pressed on. Got done and lost it all! hahaha wait....crap!
Even after all this, I still choose the PS3 over any other console. Hate having to pay to play online on the Xbox and Wii just lack any really good game (Except for Monster Hunter Tri xP) One more note, started up Battlefield 3 and found out I still had to pay $10 bucks to access the online mutiplayer......WTF!
Sorry for the rambling, it's just been a long day in a gamers world xP
