Can we remove the SPAM users and their threads?

Postby Kristian » Fri Dec 03, 2010 6:04 am

The forum keeps getting a lot of SPAM. Any chance we could at least remove the spamming user accounts tommy2010 and tommy2021?

It would be even better if their threads and any individual posts could be deleted as well. They are really messing up the thread lists.

I couldn't agree more Kristian. These spammers are getting out of hand. Holli doesn't drop by anymore and NW is MIA for almost a whole month now. We've been reporting the posts just like NW had requested yet nothing is being done. I mean, I know that there is a thing called "LIFE" but come on! This is why you signed up as an Admin or Mod, cause you'll take the time out of your life to take care of these issues. If it's becoming in issue, then pick another member from this forum that is an regular visitor to help keep this place cleaned up. I don't mean this in any disrespect to Holli nor NW but hopefully one of the two will drop by sometime soon and see this thread.

It's really appalling. I left a Private Message with both Holli and Nightwing. I hope those forward to their respective inboxes. I'm also going to tweet Trevor in the hopes he knows who's responsible for keeping a forum in Chloƫ's name.

An email has been sent to Holli (she's responsible for the site). It really isn't a big drama right now because its just a spam problem this time (and not a psychopath like before).

We just need someone with moderator priviliges to be able to tidy up the threads and delete the spam accounts. Unfortunately there is only one moderator and he seems to have disappeared.

I've had it. I'm willing to volunteer to be an additional Mod if need be. I'm here often enough to keep track of things.

Hey gang, just dropping in to let you know I have indeed been absent. I did let Holli know about this a couple of weeks in advance before I left. She said she would drop by to keep things moving. Obviously something has happened to prevent this. I'm going to be around more regularly again, and whilst I understand the irritation in this thread. Anger towards forgetting something is a bit of an over reaction. I've cleaned up the forum from all the reports, so everything is back to normal. If I've missed anything, report it and I'll be on it.
