However, there was someone who posted this on her defense, and I found it interesting.

I'm probably going to get crucified for this but...here's the thing, and I'm not saying this is right or wrong or whatever, but she's a young girl who doesn't have a 'normal life', she's a talented, in demand actress with the likes of Scorsese and Burton lining up for her. As someone said, she's home schooled and she has been working for quite a few years now. She's around adults a lot, much more than anyone her own age so it's not surprising that she's mature for her age. It happens with every child actor I've ever met, that includes both Fannings and Hailee Steinfeld by the way, lets not think for a second they're all sweet and innocent and not career focussed because trust me, they really are. The Fanning family are a machine.
I don't know about you but I certainly wasn't some little, cute innocent girl at 14 either and if someone had thrown designer dresses at me I'd have jumped at it too. Don't tell me you weren't in a hurry to grow up at that age. I agree, her outfits have been too mature for her but it seems to have been dialled back a little recently with the Miu Miu and the Chanel. That Burberry is awful though. Most of these events she goes to don't allow minors to stay after 11pm, so it's not like she's partying until 2am.
I've spent quite a bit of time with her and yes, she's a confident young woman (very bright), yes she's mature for her age and good grief is she media trained up to the eyeballs but I've never seen the precocious brat that everyone like to assume she is. Is she likeable? Well I suppose if mature teenagers with careers, ambition and strong conversational ability aren't your thing then no, she's probably not. We all have our opinions.

Yeah read that too.

While I agree that the dress makes her look wrongfully like a housewife - they do tend to go overboard quickly on the negative side on that forum.

I like the quoted context - but I doubt the truth of it (the last seqment about how much time the person has spent around Chloë). But the rest makes sense, though.

I see nothing wrong in what Chloë is doing - though sometimes (like at the moment) she is being at an awful lot of events and that does mean she will flash out alot of different outfits. That has always been Chloë way to try alot of different styles and sometimes you will look great and sometimes there will be misses.

I dont care about the misses - unless we are talking very unsuitable misses. Noone can be expected to like every outfit that Chloë wears unless you have excatly the same tastes as Chloë (and I doubt that very much).

Chloë still looks great even, though some outfits don't do her justice. But thats just how fashion is - and I don't tend to understand fashion very much - but I do know what I like and don't like when I see it.

The Fashion Spot, well those ladies love fashion and the majority of them love Chloe... once in a while some ladies i think just get jealous seeing a 14 year old starlet wearing expensive designer clothing and hobnobbing with celebrities at high profile events... most of the women there love fashion but will never be able to afford the clothing they truly desire so it is hard for a few n thus get jealous me thinks...

P.S. Chloe, Elle n Dakota Fanning n Hailee Steinfeld our the new breed of young fashionistas i'm sure it won't be long till even more young ladies join these talented young ladies... i'm sure in the future Elle Fanning will most likely have her own clothing line when she gets older...

:D but on whole Most of those ladies adore Chloe but when there is a little negativity its usually about hair make up clothes or shoes...

Wow every day this week there was another event where she went. Chloe must have a good condition. :) But I think she would be glad if she can sleep a little bit more after all this shows.

P. S. In my oppinion Chloe looks beautiful in every outfit that she wore this week - but for me the one from People's Choice Awards was the cutest. (But I'm really not a fashion expert ;) )

People on gossip/fashion sites have a tendency to be very nasty towards certain celebrities and Chloe has become one of their favorite targets. There are several reasons for this but the biggest is that they are searching for the "next Lohan" to yack about. Chloe's young, attractive and relatively unknown which makes her a mystery. That last thing leads these idiots to make Chloe into the exciting devil child they desire. There has been so much malicious baloney spread about Chloe the past few months it makes me ill, but there isn't much that can be done about it. These clowns WANT to believe these things so facts and logic are all but useless.

I love how Chloe was trying to be all nice even though these guys were really acting creepy and pushy. She is so nice I hope she never changes!

But you have to give them a little credit this time.

The photographer quickly panned by "a good chance" to try and get some upskirt filming at 0:32 - properly reminding to himself, that Chloë is just 14 years old.

Any other young actress - above 18 - and you would have seen a much ruder zoom for sure.

Chloë has to be very careful - expecially when she is wearing her short skirts as we sometimes see her in... These people are very "professional" to get the "right" pictures and filming at the "right" angles. This time the long dress/skirt saved her (and her age).

woah, that's so creepy. I didn't even noticed until you pointed it out, but yeah the camera man was perverted by doing that. Her age doesn't matter, what he was doing was so wrong!
