‘Kick-Ass’ clip, blog review

Posted by Holli on 15 Dec 2009 / 0 Comment

A Kick-Ass clip that debuted of Comic-Con, featuring Big Daddy (Nic Cage) teaching Mindy how to take a bullet, has finally been released on the internet in high quality. You can watch it here. Character posters for Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage) and Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) have already been released – hopefully Hit Girl’s will surface soon!

Chloe was also labeled “Best Actress” by blogger Mr. Beaks at Ain’t It Cool News, for his “Butt-Numb-a-Thon XI” which consisted of 12 feature films. Films reviewed included The Lovely Bones, Avatar, Shutter Island, and of course, Kick-Ass, which he labeled “Best New Movie.” Here’s what he had to say about Chloe:

Our once and, hopefully, future Hit Girl. Watching a pint-size eleven-year-old murderize a whole roomful of knife- and gun-wielding thugs is quite something, but the gleeful, little-girl smiles she shoots at Aaron Johnson’s Kick-Ass elevate the character from gimmick to iconic. She is so much more than just a Powerpuff Girl brought to life – and that’s why you can expect Comic Con ’10 to be overrun with thousands of purple-haired, black-masked tributes. She will deliver us from Bella Swan.

And Moretz is no precocious Dakota Fanning-esque child star: she’s got the natural charm and self-posession of a young Jodie Foster. Now to navigate that minefield…
